HAND REJUVENATION
The hands are the second most noticeable portion of the body yet we often forget to care for our hands the way we care for our face. We purchase numerous products for our face yet our hands can quickly give away our age in a matter of seconds. Up until a few years ago, those hoping to hide their true age had few options turning with high-end manicures, fingerless gloves, and distracting jewelry in an attempt to have more youthful hands. But today, a series of new hand rejuvenation procedures offer the cosmetically conscious a chance to turn back the hands of time.
The more common signs of aging in the hands are age spots, rough areas and a loss of fatty tissue making our hands look bony. Hand rejuvenation technique can temporarily shave 10 to 15 years off of a hand within the course of an afternoon. During you consultation, the Physician Body Solutions team will discuss your treatment options and help you to coordinate your hand rejuvenation experience.

“You end up seeing the tendons and veins you don’t see when you’re young. By injecting filler – either Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane, Radiesse or Sculptra– you can give a buffer layer between the skin and the tendons and bones so the hand appears more youthful. With our laser treatments and various products, we can erase your age spots and transform the hand in an afternoon.” - Dr. Victoria Falcone, Medical Director
What are the different types of Hand Rejuvenation Treatments?
There are various types of hand rejuvenation treatments. All of these options possess their own set of risks, benefits, costs, and techniques. The more common include:
Prescription topical treatments: Lotions and creams, some with glycolic acid or other exfoliating agents, can be effective for treating dryness and light sun damage.
Chemical Peel: When these chemicals are applied to the hands, they cause the superficial skin to peel. The skin is left smoother, healthier, and less wrinkled in appearance.
Laser Skin Resurfacing: Through short bursts of laser light, dark “age” spots are gently removed the skin. This can even out skin tone, tighten loose skin and stimulate collagen growth for a more youthful appearance.
Injectable fillers– When fillers are injected into the hands they can plump up a thin, skeletal hand restoring a more youthful, smooth appearance. Results can last 6 months (Juvederm, Restylane), 12-18 months (Radiesse) or 2-3 years (Sculptra) depending on the filler agent selected.
